A Party fit for a Princess

Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever. -Walt Disney

We were selected to host an @Home Celebration #disneyside party. Anyone who knows me, knows that I will find any reason to celebrate LIFE. I am always excited about living, loving, laughing. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have hosted our first @Home celebration. Now my daughter is 4 years old and she has had over 14 parties since she's been in the world and of course, we have hosted Disney themed party. TALK ABOUT FUN!!!! Now during this party I was on bed rest (expecting a second princess in June, CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT). I had help with the party, my husband put up the decor and my cousin and another party mommy assisted with games. I was able to get a few shots captured, not so many of the decor. Bummer! But it is okay. I will start by telling you about the party and some pics you will have to use your imagination :).

There's a party going on. AND YOU'RE INVITED!
These days in time, social media sites are a big communication vehicle for most. So, I used fb events to create an invitation for party guest. I used a pic of my family and I with Mickey and Minnie while at Disney in 2013. Guest were able to RSVP using this method and I posted updates once or twice per week hyping the guest and encouraging them to bring cameras and wear attire that would express their #disneyside. I posted the menu and I posted the activities to the page to build excitement about the party.

DISNEY, WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE!
Decorations are so important to set the atmosphere at any celebration. Because I am on bed rest, my family and I are on a strict budget. The decor provided to us included Disney spiral hangers, Minnie cupcake stand, and a tablecloth. Soooo, I added to the decor, of course. I used black, red, white, and yellow construction paper to make 5 Mickey inspired chain links, which hung from the opening facing the kitchen and the living room. I used a mug and vitamin bottle top to create a Mickey silhouette for a banner to hang over the fire place. My 4 year old painted a flower pot yellow and we created a Mickey out of styro-foam and tissue paper. It was displayed on the fire place. Also, I created puff balls to sit over the fire. I used the tablecloth as a backdrop for the photo booth. I used a black poster board, green and blue tissue paper and chalk to create the photo frame for the booth. We taped it to the wall vertically and placed my daughter's doc chairs in front of the backdrop as an option for a the photo ops.

My sweet niece and my amazing daughter
Okay, I created a Minnie pinata and my daughter filled it with the goodies provided to us by @Home celebrations. I am not really big on giving out lots and lots of candy to little people. So the tattoos, stickers, pencils and polish were perfect for the kiddos. The Minnie sandwich bags were used as collection bags during the bursting of the pinata. We purchased Minnie Mouse balloons from the Dollar Tree. What's a celebration without balloons, huh!!! At the table where the adults sat were our Disney photo albums. We have been blessed to attend WDW twice and Disneyland in Anaheim this past Spring Break 2014. The albums sparked conversations about Disney vacations and a couple of the families are planning to journey to Disney where the magic begins! Can't wait to see their pics as they create memories at such a family loving establishment.

FOOD MAGIC
Food always beget smiles. Our menu consisted of Mickey's hot diggity dogs, Minnie's cupcakes, Daisy's Dole Whips. Donald's sno cones, Pluto's cheese puffs, Pete's apple slices, and Mickey's burgers. We also, had water and sprite for the adults.

GOOFY'S GAMES
As Frozen played throughout the majority of the party, the twelve children free played so well together. They were able to play games with the help of party moms. The kiddos played pin the smile on Mickey, Disney Bingo, karaoke,  they put Disney puzzles together (my daughter has quite a few Disney puzzles) and the game finale was bursting the pinata. Prizes were not given out. Everyone received a cupcake instead. Believe it or not, they were so grateful for the pinata treats and the cupcakes.

We would like to give our warmest regards to @Home Celebrations for allowing us to host a #disneyside party with all of the awesome goodies that were sent to our family to share our love of Disney with others.  Blessings!
